About Online Learning

Just-in-Time Support When and Where You Need It

The mission of the Office of Online Learning is to provide quality support to faculty and students engaged in the teaching and learning of fully online and web enhanced courses and to promote academic excellence in the courses that are offered. Services provided include:

Student Support:

• Pre-and post-semester communication with online learners to provide access to resources and information regarding support as well as to evaluate their online learning experience
• In-person, telephone, and 24/7 e-mail support in accessing and using the WebCT learning management system and troubleshooting problems
• Student tutorials and resource materials

Faculty Support

• Individual and group training in online course development and pedagogy and use of WebCT and related e-learning applications
• On-going support through individual assignment to an educational technologist
• Scheduling and coordination of regular WebCT designer group meetings
• Faculty tutorials and resources

Application Support

• Administration of WebCT learning management system and related online learning delivery systems
• WebCT course creation and user management
• Data Integration
