The
Office of Online Learning offers a number of resources and services
designed to assist faculty who are teaching online, web-enhanced
or blended courses. These include:
Individual
Assignment to an Educational Technologist
Faculty
who are interested in developing an online course or in using WebCT
to supplement a web-enhanced or blended course may request support
by contacting the Office of Online Learning at (201) 200-3449. Each
faculty member will be assigned to an Educational Technologist who
will work with him/her on an individual basis or in small group
sessions. Individual training sessions will be scheduled at the
convenience of the faculty member and may take place either in the
Office of Online Learning or in the faculty member's office. The
Educational Technoligst will provide ongoing support to the faculty
member either through in-person sessions or via e-mail and telephone
for their initial and all future semesters of teaching online and/or
using WebCT.
WebCT
Faculty Exchange Online Tutorial
The WebCT Faculty
Exchange is an online tutorial designed to provide both beginning
and advanced WebCT faculty with a forum for exchanging ideas and
leveraging the power of this sophisticated e-learning platform.
The WebCT Faculty Exchange provides a roadmap of the numerous tools
available in WebCT to support student learning styles and best practices
in online pedagogy. New
WebCT faculty will be provided with access to the WebCT Faculty
Exchange immediately after their initial WebCT training session.
The tutorial will remain a permanent part of their myWebCT page
for as long as they continue to use WebCT
WebCT
Designer Group Meetings
WebCT
Designer Group meetings are held approximately twice each semester
for the purpose of bringing faculty together to share best practices
and discuss their experiences using WebCT. The meetings are coordinated
by the Office of Online Learning and are open to online faculty
as well as to those who use WebCT to teach web-enhanced or blended
courses.
